Destroyer X FAQ ]

Q- What is
"DoD
US Standard" Button in
Destroyer X?
A- "DoD" stands for "US Department of Defense" (DoD 5220.22-M)
seven step erasing standard to completely erase your files. Here
Destroyer X erases 7 times the selected Item-items.
Q- What is the "Fire
Destroy" function
Button in Destroyer X?
A- "Fire Destroy" Button is a powerful function that
Erases/Destroys items many times more than the DoD Standard (about
450% more. ( if one is to measure the effectiveness in such a way
)
Q- What is the "Wipe
/ Fast Overwriting " function
Button in Destroyer X?
A- "Fast Overwriting erases the selected File or Folder once.
meaning the data will be overwritten once only.
Q- What is the "Destroy+
0 Blocks! " function
Button in Destroyer X?
A- The " Destroy + 0 Blocks!" is a combination of functions. When
selecting this function, the selected files / folders will be
erased with using the (Fire Destroy function) and then all blocks
that previously contained the erased data will be overwritten with
(zeros). This is a very powerful feature and it requires more time
to implement then any other feature, obviously.
Q- How long does it take to destroy and Item?
A- Depending on the option selected and the file size. Destroyer X
erases and overwrites the selected Item or Items more that 34 times
before finally Destroying it.
Q- Can I destroy Files as well as Folders?
A- Yes, Destroyer X destroys Files and Folders, you can also
destroy Files and Folders simultaneously in single passes.
Q- How many files or folders can i destroy at once?
A- You can destroy as many files and folders in a single pass as
you like, but it is a CPU intensive task so it's not advisable to
destroy more that 5-10 items in a single pass. DestroyerX is very
fast, but ultimately all depends on the file sizes you are to
destroy and your computer's processing power, the bigger the item
the longer it will take to destroy it.
Q- Can the Files Erased/Destroyed with Destroyer X be
Retrieved?
A- If you used the strong options "Fire Destroy" or "Destroy + (0)
Blocks" then there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY known to me and others that
can retrieve the Destroyed files that where erased with Destroyer X
. If you happen to know/tested software that retrieved files
previously Destroyed with the powerful functions mentioned above,
please inform me immediately, and I will investigate the matter and
post the findings.
